Istanbul Twilight

Istanbul Twilight is dedicated to the metropolis that connects Europe and the Middle East. It is comprised of nine candleholders made of felt, their shape directly inspired by the silhouette of Istanbul. The colours reflect the different shades of light that move across the city’s facades at dusk and dawn.

The choice of material is based on a specific characteristic of wool—that it doesn’t catch fire. The felt is cut into long strips and then coiled by hand into circles, like a snake. The candleholders are completed with the finishing detail of a candlepin.
